McKenzie is a seasoned illustrator
With over a decade of professional experience, McKenzie brings stories and educational concepts to life. For the past four years, she has worked full-time with the award-winning homeschool curriculum, ‘The Good and the Beautiful’, where her colorful style has helped create beginner readers books, language art courses, history and science courses, beginner chapter books, and website designs.
McKenzie is known for her playful use of color
McKenzie’s artwork is created with the traditional medium of watercolor that lends a soft, timeless quality to her illustrations. She is also skilled in digital editing for her work. Her style is playful, colorful, classic, and grounded with a sprinkling of whimsy and wonder.
McKenzie is deeply passionate about the natural wonders of the world
McKenzie uses her art to help children connect with the natural world and the diverse life within it. When she isn’t at her drawing desk, she can be found hiking the trails near her current home in Utah, traveling to new places to enjoy diverse cultures, foods and beauty, and relaxing at home with her husband and cute kitty named ‘Sushi.’

McKenzie believes deeply that children’s illustration needs to take the lead in teaching children how beautiful and diverse life is. Children everywhere deserve to read stories they can see themselves in. This belief has been a consistent theme in her career. It’s part of what makes her art universally beautiful.
